Zakharova to Kiril Petkov: We do not interfere in Bulgaria
Russia has never allowed itself to interfere in the affairs of foreign countriesnor will it ever allow any other country to try to impose its opinion.
This is how the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, interviewed the comment of the Bulgarian Prime Minister in resignation, Kiril Petkov, to “The Times”. In it, the Prime Minister spoke about Russian influence and that “corruption is the best tool of Moscow’s foreign policy in the Balkans”.
“Speculating on the ‘Russian threat’ for domestic political and other useful purposes is a sure sign of political agony. We are convinced that this is also so obvious for the Bulgarian people, to whom we sincerely wish prosperity and a pragmatic government that is capable of acting in the national interest, and not seeking the favor of its transatlantic “partners”, emphasizes Zakharova.
“We sincerely sympathize with his concerns about the Kremlin’s ‘long arm’. From the point of view of logic and truth we do not see the point of comment ladies individually, each of the intentionally false statements about Russian intervention in Bulgaria, corruption as a “main instrument of our foreign policy” in the Balkans”, commented the voice of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
