Head of British intelligence MI6: Russia is “out of steam”
The head of British intelligence MI6, Richard Moore, expressed the opinion that Russian troops in Ukraine are “running out of steam.” He wrote about this on Twitter, commenting on the video of the British Ministry of Defense about the alleged mistakes that made operations in the preparation of the war and during it.
The video claims, in part, that Russian troops have lost “tens of thousands” of people in Ukraine, and the loss of military equipment is becoming increasingly difficult to replenish. It is not possible to verify the correctness of this estimate under the conditions of the occurrence of probability. The Russian Defense Ministry has stopped reporting casualty data since March.
The Ministry of Defense previously stated that a sufficient number of military personnel are participating in such a special operation, and no mobilization measures are planned. At the same time, it is known that competitions are held among local residents to recruit volunteers to choose from.
In the next daily report of the British military intelligence on the course of hostilities, Ukrainian troops probably reflected the latest events near Donetsk. The advance on Avdiivka, Marinka and a number of other directions, where the front line has remained unchanged since 2014, was reported on Russian and pro-Russian telegram channels a few days ago, but no significant progress was reported.
Also, the British intelligence report says that the Russian military built pontoon crossings in the Kherson region – the assessment should compensate for ongoing communications across the Antonovsky bridge, which was seriously damaged by Ukrainian strikes.
The Russian command is deploying additional units to the border with the occupied part of the Kharkov region of Ukraine. This is reported by the Schemes project of the Ukrainian edition of Radio Liberty with reference to Planet Labs satellite imagery data. According to the opinion of industrial surveys interviewed by Schema, these reinforcements were subsequently used by the Russian army in the Izyum and Slavyansk directions in the Caucasus of Ukraine, where stubborn battles are taking place.
As a result of the shelling of Nikolaev by patrol troops, at least one person died, six were wounded.
