A great return to the first league. Zbrojovka robbed Slovácko of points
Slovácko had to make up for it twice, from the 71st minute kick of Michal Trávník to equalize 2:2, they were already clearly on top, but did not complete the turnaround. The draw was mainly taken by the newcomer from Brno. “I’m not disappointed, I have to praise the players for how they fought back and fought back the game. We didn’t start it well, we were nervous, but the first goal helped us,” said Zbrojovka coach Richard Dostálek.
The brilliant Brno talent Michal Ševčík opened the score of the match in the 21st minute, when he stood at the end of a beautiful action in which he took advantage of a pass from Jakub Řezniček. “I yelled at him about four times to give it to me. The goal helped me a lot. Before I gave it, I was nervous and didn’t even want to think anything up. Then self-confidence went up,” described the hope from Brno, who will celebrate her twentieth birthday in two weeks.

The visitors equalized nine minutes later. Brno goalkeeper Martin Berkovec boxed the ball in front of him and Daniel Holzer sent the ball into the net with a stop. However, to the surprise of the fans, the home team took the lead back in two minutes. Řezníček, who transformed from a gunner to a scorer, this time found Jakub Přichystal, who made no mistake from close range. “I already said in the preparation that we save the goals for the league and it worked out in the first match, hopefully it will continue and we didn’t shoot,” reflected Ševčík.
The visitors, who await next week’s preliminary round of the Europa League against Fenerbahce Istanbul, created many chances but failed to win. This was only achieved by Michal Trávník, who made his debut in the Czech league after returning from Turkey in the very first match. “We were a bit unlucky with both conceded goals. But that doesn’t change the fact that we played against an excellent opponent who has incredible power on the ball,” said Dostálek.

The end of the match belonged to Slovácko, who stepped up his pressure, but he was not going to turn the score in his favor. “We only take a point, which is not enough for me. We told ourselves before the match that we mustn’t leave a window for the opponent and that’s exactly what happened. Even though we created more chances throughout the match and had more of the game, we didn’t have the chance to turn it around,” Slovácko’s coach Martin Svědík regretted.
Zbrojovka thus scored the first point in the table, their next match awaits them next Saturday in Olomouc, which beat Baník Ostrava 3:0.
