Near Toulouse, AnimaParc is reinventing itself to attract new visitors
New features to promote the immersion of visitors in the attractions: this is the objective of the AnimaParc theme park, based in Burgaud (Haute-Garonne), northwest of the Toulouse conurbation, which is reinventing itself after two difficult years linked to the Covid. This entire family park, created in 2005 and divided into 6 themed zones (Far West, Pirates, Fantasy, Indians, Dinosaurs, Tropical), is now soundproofed, each with its own atmosphere and sound effects.
2,000 entries per day
“Our last big attractions dated from 2020, the year of our 15th birthday which was marred by the health crisis, so we decided to renovate and modernize the park a little, both in terms of entertainment and reception areas, specifies Benjamin. Pauly, marketing and communication manager of AnimaParc. Despite the gloomy context and economy of the French, leisure activities remain a moment of escape for our visitors who favor proximity. We find a good attendance, better than before the Covid, at the rate of 2,000 visitors per day. »
At the end of July and in different phases, AnimaParc will unveil new features on its mythical attractions. On the Niagara side, an aquatic roller coaster on logs, visitors will pass through a new artificial tunnel made up of around thirty water jets. At the end of the route, they will also take a new path through a 5m high pirate shipwreck entirely made by the carpenter employed by the park.
On the side of the Far West Express attraction, the public will now board the train of a mine in full explosion, with a lot of smoke cannons and LED light effects. With the same objective, smoke cannons were also placed on the outlines of Wild Tower, the park’s free fall tower. Synchronized with a sound track, these will be accompanied by a mist on the ground which increases the feeling of height and vertigo once at the top.
AnimaParc’s clientele, which has 15 permanent employees and around sixty fixed-term contracts in the summer, comes 70% from Toulouse and its agglomeration and Montauban, but more and more visitors have come from around the Mediterranean in recent years. In 2019, the establishment welcomed nearly 150,000 visitors, its attendance record.
