Does a “radar” scooter criss-cross the streets of Paris?
Captured by an Internet user and then posted on social networks, the video of the “radar” scooter in the streets of Paris provoked strong reactions.
Mounted on the back of a Silence brand electric scooter, it must be admitted that the device is impressive and can be confusing.
However, no, the scooter is not used to raise the speed of Parisian vehicles, any more than to raise their incivilities at the wheel or on the handlebars.
While circulating in Paris, the device actually scans license plates and identifies parking violations in order to automatically establish more and more post-parking packages (FPS). He is therefore hunting motorists, and soon motorbike and scooter users, who do not pay for their parking.
Unveiled in 2017, this type of device is particularly formidable for motorists who are not in good standing from the parking point of view. Called ScanGenius, developed by the Dutch company Arvoo, and operated by the private company Moovia, the device consists of six cameras which decipher the license plates of parked vehicles, and an upper box which takes the offender. A snapshot used as proof of the offence.
A device much more mobile than a car, and with a much more productive output than an agent on foot.
Long live technology.
