The most successful project of the tenth year of the ČSOB helps regions program in the South Moravian Region was the Development of manual skills of children and youth, which teaches children and young people trades. The public and the bank also financially support children with disabilities, people with spinal cord injuries, children and young people coping with the death of a loved one, and children with autism.

Together, 5 projects that have succeeded in the South Moravian region will receive almost 313 thousand crowns. ČSOB awarded the five with the sum of CZK 160,000, and the public also contributed the sum of CZK 152,621. In this year’s jubilee year, one extra project applied for the favor of contributors in each region. From a total of 367 submitted projects, the expert jury selected 4 in each of the 15 regions, and the public sent the fifth to the finals using a wild card.
“It’s great, even in a difficult economic situation, people support beneficial activities and have chosen a record start among themselves! The public has traditionally sent the most money to people with disabilities, the sick, children, young people and families. Recently, also interested in projects focused on the environment, regional development and animal protection. I am very happy that we are still sticking together and helping together where it makes sense,” says Petr Hutla, senior director and member of the board of directors of ČSOB.
Do-it-yourselfers can get to work
The registered association Nová Zahrada Ivančice creates space for the development of creativity, manual skills and knowledge of children and youth in the Tesařík Workshop. It supports cooperation between children and parents and brings the family together. “Our goal is for the children to learn, in addition to manual skills, patience, prudence and care – what ultimately makes a craft a craft. The children create various products from wood and help with the preparation of the material and building the background of the workshop,” says Jiří Bíba from the registered association Nová Zahrada Ivančice. ČSOB contributed CZK 50,000 to the project, the public collected CZK 62,350.
Help not only for children with disabilities
The project of the registered Piafa Institute, which helps children with medical disabilities, finished in second place. The organization received CZK 40,000 from ČSOB, people contributed CZK 39,090. The third most successful candidate is the registered association Paracentrum Fenix, which helps wheelchair-bound people get where you need to go. The project received CZK 35,000 from ČSOB, and the public sent CZK 23,200. The fourth sponsoring organization is the registered association Klára helps, which accompanies children and young people through the loss of a loved one. Her project received CZK 25,000 from ČSOB and CZK 19,426 from the public. The successful five are completed by the Veronica Foundation, which supports autistic boys in the care of a community garden. ČSOB provided it in the amount of CZK 10,000 and the public added CZK 8,555.
