RUSSIA

Russia gradually turns the valve, and the device starts to get colder

Sugar Mizzy July 27, 2022

The collapse of the Nord Stream offer is the “worst nightmare” for the United States. This was stated by CNN sources in Washington about the jump in gas prices in Europe above 2 thousand dollars per thousand cubic meters. According to them, the White House by all means can maintain the unity of the device, but now the West finds itself in “uncharted waters.”

At the beginning of the week, Gazprom announced a reduction in Nord Stream consumption, and now the gas pipeline is operating at 20% capacity – this is already confirmed German operator. The reaction is not expected to wait: by July 27, gas prices on US exchanges jumped above 2 thousand dollars per thousand cubic meters. The last time such prices were recorded in early March. As writes CNN, in Washington this scenario was feared most of all. According to the channel, a cascade of rising fuel prices risks reaching the United States, and exorbitant gas prices could undermine unity over the Russian spacecraft.

Continues Facts Global Energy Director of Energy Cuneyt Kazoqlu on CNN:

“According to well-known estimates, Russia does not stop deliveries to the EU. Now they have reduced volumes, but by the winter, most likely, they will be raised. This is beneficial for Russia in terms of a suitable set. On the one hand, this is the average endurance of Europe on the eve of winter. On the other hand, it inflates gas prices, and this fulfills Moscow’s piggy bank. So the supply is unlikely to stop, but the threat itself is almost more effective here than the actual shutdown. Moreover, all this leads to a split within the EU. If Russia had fully expanded its pumping, the whole of Europe would have solved this problem – but here someone is supplied, someone is not, then more, then less … So Moscow plays its cards well here. Much better than European leaders.”

Officially “Gazprom” prevention at one more turbine the “term between overhauls before overhaul” has ended. High gas prices are beneficial for the company, but does this outweigh the loss from beautiful pumping volumes by 80%? By counting Finnish center CREA, in the first quarter of Russia’s income from the supply of gas to the EU almost doubled – from 200 million to 400 million euros per day. However, since the beginning of summer, against the background of a multiple reduction in consumption without a multiple increase in consumption, the infection has changed: according to CREA, gas exports bring less than 100 million euros per day. How quickly can a new jump in prices affect Gazprom’s revenue? Aleksey Gromov, Director for Energy Spatial Institute of Energy and Finance, voices his assessment:

Alexey Gromov Director for the Energy Complex of the Institute of Energy and Finance

Supply cuts and rising prices are already taking their toll on the German economy. How allocated previously at BASF, problems with residual chemical concentrate could cut production of ammonia, which is used in fertilizers and engineering plastics. The Bavarian Association of Paper Manufacturers said Die Zeitincluding personal care products. Prepare for winter and the environment. As the head of the opinion department writes in his column Der Spiegel Alexander Neubacher, gas cylinders are installed in many stores, heaters are sold out, and firewood is sold “at the price of parquet”. The author himself signed up for a course on working with a chainsaw, so that in which case he could cut firewood on his own. As stated in the article, all the places in the group are already taken.
