The reaction is not expected to wait: by July 27, gas prices on US exchanges jumped above 2 thousand dollars per thousand cubic meters. The last time such prices were recorded in early March. As writes CNN, in Washington this scenario was feared most of all. According to the channel, a cascade of rising fuel prices risks reaching the United States, and exorbitant gas prices could undermine unity over the Russian spacecraft.

On the other hand, it inflates gas prices, and this fulfills Moscow’s piggy bank. So the supply is unlikely to stop, but the threat itself is almost more effective here than the actual shutdown. Moreover, all this leads to a split within the EU. If Russia had fully expanded its pumping, the whole of Europe would have solved this problem – but here someone is supplied, someone is not, then more, then less … So Moscow plays its cards well here. Much better than European leaders.”
