The second city district is sending out a letter to all seniors over 80 years of age, in which it offers quick and easy mediation of the fourth dose of vaccination against Covid-19.
According to information on website of the city district, in cooperation with the General Faculty Hospital in Prague, wants to provide its elderly fellow citizens with planned revaccination quickly, easily, without stress and queues.
To secure an appointment, seniors just need to call the information telephone line 800 600 604, and do so right away, as registration has already started. The vaccination itself will then take place from 1 to 4 August from 12:30 to 15:00. The phone line will allow you to reserve an exact date and time, and the vaccination will take place without waiting.
Only the date of administration of the last vaccine is important
The only condition for administering a booster dose of the vaccine is that at least four months have passed since the third vaccination. For this reason, the City Hall asks seniors to include the date of the last vaccine when communicating via the phone number listed.
A mobile vaccination team will also be available from September. He will head to homes for the elderly, their ability to move is limited and it would therefore be difficult for them to come to the university hospital.
Everyone over the age of 60 is entitled to the fourth dose
The fourth-dose vaccination was launched by the Ministry of Health from Monday 18 July after the European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended it for people over 60. All residents over the age of 60, adults suffering from any of the chronic diseases (diabetes, immune disorders, etc.) and also high-risk patients, for example after a transplant, are entitled to it. At the same time, at least 4 months had to pass since their last vaccine dose.
So far, only special vaccination centers and some hospitals administer the fourth dose. In the future, vaccinations should also be administered by general practitioners. The list of vaccination sites can be found at ockoreportuzis.cz.
The registration system for the second booster dose has not yet been launched and vaccination takes place without registration. But the Ministry of Health plans to start central reservations from August 15.
