Next season, the ICE clubs will only be allowed to send 10 foreigners onto the ice per game. But that didn’t stop EC Red Bull Salzburg from extending the working papers for Hochkofler, who hails from South Tyrol.
Salzburg’s head coach Matt McIlvane appreciates the striker’s qualities: “I’m very happy to still have Peter on the ice and in the dressing room. He is the best example of how we work and how we act. He’s a great player that younger people can look up to and is really good at implementing our game and tactics on the ice.”
Hochkofler, who scored 5 goals and 10 assists in 43 games last season, is stated in a club announcement as follows: “I not only know the boys in the team, but also more or less all the employees around the team and a great many from the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy. That really makes it very special for me here in Salzburg.”
With his commitment and his physical style of play, Italy’s national striker should also lead the way in the coming season – and not only when it comes to the two teams from his homeland of Bozen and Pustertal.
