In the last seven days, 3,360 cases of infection with the new coronavirus and eight deaths were confirmed in the Republic of Moldova, and 24,324 tests were performed, the representatives of the Ministry of Health (MoH) announced on Tuesday, July 19th.
Between July 11 and July 17, according to health authorities, 2,318 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered. Thus, 421 people were vaccinated with the first dose of vaccine, 270 with the second dose of vaccine, and with the booster dose – 1,627 people.
Currently, 1,067,020 people are vaccinated with the full scheme.
On Monday, July 18, the health authorities announced that the city of Chisinau remains in the “orange code” of epidemiological alert and recommended citizens to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
On Wednesday, July 13, the protective mask became mandatory in medical institutions of all categories in Chisinau. A decision in this regard was taken by the Extraordinary Public Health Commission Chisinau (CESP), in the context of increasing cases of COVID-19 infection.
The health authorities of the capital also recommended to the citizens to wear protective masks in public transport and crowded enclosed public spaces. At the same time, according to the CESP Chisinau decision, the hospitals with COVID-19 profile will be gradually activated.
