Monaco not spared in the Champions League!
For their third qualifying round for the Champions League, AS Monaco inherited PSV Eindhoven. Not easy for the men of Philippe Clément.
Third in the last Ligue 1 season,AS Monaco allocated a place for the qualifications of the next Champions League. For this third preliminary round, the men of the Rock knew that their chances of falling on the heavy were important. Their five potential opponents were also known since it was Benfica, Glasgow Rangers, the winner of the duel to be played between Dynamo kyiv and Fenerbahçe, or PSV Eindhoven. It is the latter that the Monegasques will face.
The first leg will take place on August 2 or 3 on the lawn of Louis-II, while the return will be played on August 9 in the Netherlands. The challenge therefore promises to be difficult for Wissam Ben Yedder’s partners, especially since PSV finished second in the last Eredivisie championship behind Erik ten Hag’s Ajax. The other three duels in this new “league path” will pit Union Saint-Gilloise against Glasgow Ranges, Benfica against the winner of the Midtjylland-AEK Larnaca duel, and the winner of Dynamo kyiv-Fenerbahçe against Sturm Graz.

There is hope
The last opposition between Monaco and Eindhoven is not so old since it dates back to the group stage of the Europa League 2021. The two teams had therefore faced each other twice, with a snatch victory for the Monegasques in away on October 21 (1-2), then a goalless draw on November 4 (0-0). Another point encouraged, the last victory of the PSV on Monaco dates back to March 2005.
