Great evening at the Prairie des Filtres
As part of the Toulouse Festival, a a great evening of concerts is organized at the Prairie des Filtres this Saturday, July 16. It will begin at 8 p.m. with, in the first part, a “alone on stage” by Thomas Valverde. With a device of keyboards bringing together pianos, synthesizers and electronic textures, the artist develops a unique sound where trance and introspection intertwine.
Then place the headliners. From 9 p.m., Julien Clerc will have carte blanche for a pop-symphonic concert with the Orchester National du Capitole under the direction of Yvan Cassar and Félix Mildenberger. An exceptional show with exceptional classical soloists like Natalie Dessay and other prestigious guests.
And to end this evening, the dj Kavinsky will take over the stage from 11 p.m., to play his great hits in Toulouse, including the legendary “NightCall” and “Roadgame”, but also to unveil his latest album which has just been released. An eclectic evening… under the stars.

Guided tour of the Château de la Reynerie
Here is an idea of outings to note in your diaries during this hot weekend in Toulouse. The guided tour of the Château de la Reynerie to discover a place that has remained suspended in the elegance of the 18th century. And don’t forget to walk around its French gardenlisted as a Historic Monument, with a basin as well as rare and exotic species.
Architecture, decorations, botany… This remarkable site opens its doors to you for a visit this Saturday. Even if the family of Madame Dubarry, favorite of Louis XV, still attracts curiosity in the popular mind today, it is especially the majesty and the intact decoration of this small castle which strikes you. Cleaned and refreshed, the story of this rare pearl is told to you by a guide who endeavors to underline the delicacy of the ornaments and interior fittings originals in the classical style: stucco panels representing bacchantes and candelabra, grisaille depicting the four seasons, marble fireplaces, etc. If the original furniture is partly kept in the Museum of Precious Arts Paul Dupuythe architecture still resounds with the echoes of the murmurs of 18th century lace frilled petticoats…
For the record, it was Guillaume Dubarry who built this pleasure residence dedicated to the holidays, and bearing the name of “Folie” between 1781 and 1783. Having a foothold in the center, he only came there on sunny days. Yet he has endowed it with interiors worthy of the most prestigious Parisian salons. At the beginning of the 19th century, the castle passed from family to family without, miraculously, anything being altered. Already owner of most of the park, classified Remarkable Garden, the City of Toulouse bought the whole thing little by littlebetween the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, then the castle in 2008.
Practical information: guided tour of the Château de la Reynerie, Saturday 16 July from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Price: 8 euros. Online reservations.
The birds of the water tower
The gallery of the Water Tower welcomes until the end of the summer a collective exhibition on the theme of birds. Twelve internationally renowned photographers have pooled their respective work to deliver, each with their own perspective, a testimony to the presence of birds in our environment. And to better understand their importance, each shot is accompanied by a commentary by ornithologist Guilhem Lesaffre.
Soberly titled “Of the Birds”, this exhibition “brings together in the same format, the signatures of photographers from all over the world that are only brought together by the fact of having granted, demonstrated or in a less conscious way, an important place in their work to birds that always make us, for a thousand reasons, dream », specifies Christian Caujolle, artistic director of the Château d’Eau.
The “Birds” exhibition is a logical continuation of the collection of works of the same name, which brings together all the photographs that you will discover at the Château d’Eau, in another format. Presented for the first time in Toulouse, the photos will then leave for Brussels to be exhibited at the Hangarfrom September 2022.
Practical information: Birds, until August 21, Tuesday to Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the gallery of the Château d’Eau. FREE ENTRANCE.
Ultra Bike in Labège
If you cannot make it to the stages of the Tour de France, be aware thatan Ultra Bike is organized near you. In fact, the city of Labège, south-east of Toulouse, was chosen as the point of departure and arrival of this race mentioned in the local sports diary for the first time this weekend.
L’Ultra Bike Franceultra cycling events, created by two Toulouse residents, offers cycling enthusiasts a new experience with shorter and more intense long distance events than the classic formats of the genre, while keeping the best of this discipline. An experience also for spectators who could watch the race on the side of the road.
You will see runners pass by, leaving for a stage of nearly 500 kilometers, to be completed in less than 24 hours for the most seasoned, and in 34 hours for amateurs. It’s up to you whether you prefer to encourage the riders or the climbers who will compete on a course divided into three distinct parts. The first part is a series of toboggans over 140 kilometers, which will take cyclists from Labège to the foot of the Pyrenees. The second part covers 100 kilometers, three mythical passes of the Tour de France (Balès, Portillon, Menté). Halfway through and before attacking the last section (the longest) in the middle of the night, the participants will bivouac at Aspet. The last part of the circuit will be led by toboggans at the lever of the sun, on the roads of Lauragais.
