targeted by jets of projectiles, the courtyard of a nursery forced to close
A pre-complaint was filed online by the director of the crèche on June 3 and a mother also filed a complaint after receiving a water bomb.
Water bombs, potatoes, forks… The 22 children of the Quivogne crèche in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon have not been able to go out in the courtyard for several months. For good reason, a neighbor of the establishment throws various objects there, transforming the place into a real waste dump.
“It can be squirts of potatoes, onions, cups of hot chocolate, full yogurt, packets of cereal, water bombs. They are really very diverse and varied objects, a lot of food”, explains Isabelle Coroenne-Laplace, elected parent delegate of the Quivogne crèche, at the microphone of BFM Lyon.
A pre-complaint was filed online by the director of the crèche on June 3, when a mother filed a complaint after receiving a water bomb.
“It is unacceptable”
This dangerous situation for children aged between 0 and 3 years worries parents. In particular, they expect more intervention from the police.
“The police say today that they are investigating but we don’t see anything. We have no results revealed. The jets are very random, it can happen at any time of the day. For me, the solution would be to have a camera,” says Isabelle Coroenne-Laplace.
On the side of the town hall of Lyon, the solution is simple: apprehend in flagrante delicto the perpetrator or perpetrators. Other alternatives are also being studied, as explained by Steven Vasselin, deputy for early childhood at the town hall of Lyon.
“The trail of a net is being studied but it is not certain that it could be satisfactory because of the projectiles that we have been able to evoke, for example a fork, a net would unfortunately risk not being enough” , he told BFM Lyon.
Before adding: “We will make sure that the police continue and above all do not relax their efforts to identify the culprit. Once again, we cannot be satisfied with such a situation, it is unacceptable and it must stop ASAP.”
In the meantime, children from the Quivogne crèche are taken to a park every day for their outdoor activities.
