Energy, agreement between San Marino and Algeria
“Energy emergency, agreement in sight with Algeria”. The latest move on the international chessboard was signaled by the Secretary of Labor, Teodoro Lonfernini, during yesterday’s conference. “We are working on every possible front, – assures Lonfernini – both in the relationship with the main suppliers and with the countries that have the possibility of generating essential resources”. The propitious occasion was registered during the Mediterranean Games held from 25 June to 5 July last in Arona in Algeria. “A country where there was dialogue at the highest levels in terms of resources”, he reveals, highlighting that he has found the maximum availability and “put pen to paper the desire to go into direct relations”. At the same time, interventions on a national energy plan continue in parallel with the Italian situation. “Issues on which the session of the Congress of Ukraine focused and which – he explains – affected the entire European area even before the conflict in Ukraine”. In this regard and above all on the procurement front, the secretary clarifies, “San Marino has done well in advance but must continue in terms of financial and physical coverage because the times that will be very uncertain for gas and electricity”. The same goes for water resources, given the dry season.
The numbers of Covid
The health situation is also under the lens of Congress due to the exacerbation of viral activity. “At the moment everything is under control – reassures Lonfernini – with cases followed at home and the hospital situation is not subjected to any pressure”.
Labor reform
The labor reform is also a very topical chapter, “which has seen discussions resume both with the trade unions and with the categories in an intense two days”. In this regard, there are crucial points on which to work in order to reach a mediation but he is confident that we will risk as soon as possible to unmark the text to bring it to the approval of the classroom. Meanwhile, he sends back to the sender exploitation and malice: “There is none, nor need to stall – affirm -: but these are reforms that require confrontation and total sharing with the evil wills.” He adds that a European vision is cut at the basis of the decisions, such as the ability to provide services for supply and demand or the conditions on the logic of fixed-term (and non-temporary) work that will look at the logic of the negotiation agreement at the ‘EU. All with the scientific contribution of the University of San Marino, “so much so that – he anticipates – on July 19 there will be a morning of confrontation between the rules of work, in Europe, Italy and San Marino”. Once again “a logic of anticipation with respect to the closing times of the agreement” comes into play, he concludes.
Association with the EU
Following the Foreign Secretary Luca Beccari retraces the latest official missions which, from Slovakia to Montenegro, “are grafted on the association agreement with the European Union”, a theme that, “after the session of the Congress last Wednesday will be in the next session of the Great and General Council, which explains the small number of items on the agenda ». To keep the negotiations “we needed a more political and less technical approach – reiterates Beccari -. Now the game enters an intense phase, – he notes – perhaps more complicated but we can see the goal ». Technicians aside, he defines it as an agreement to be struck «with 27 countries, also to create a political consensus, avoiding long times for ratification». The occasion is trying to create a stronger political relationship with the states of the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe, he notes. As for the meetings for the agreement, they will resume a nice September-early October. “We will take advantage of these months to feed the internal debate, – says Beccari – also involving trade associations”. The draft law on the diplomatic career is also on the agenda.
