Hero of Budapest: the young guardian angel of the homeless, Dávid Menyhárt, became a TikTok star – Video! – Metropolis
In Budapest, we often meet homeless people in parks, in parks, in doorways, they are constantly begging and the majority of people have a negative image of them. Not so young, barely nineteen years old David Menyhártwho became in two months TikTok sensation with its unusual contents. Dávid talks to the homeless, helps them and, by the way, invites them to lunch. On the record-breaking social media platform, he first roused viewers with another equally moving video, but eventually switched to creating content in which he helps the downtrodden.
“No one listens to these people“
“I think it’s important that people see this. I’m never in the videos, I’m not the point, but the actDávid said when we asked about it. Choosing the right subject is a long process, according to the boy.
There are cases when the search takes hours, but in other cases, you find the perfect actor for the 1-2 minute video you are preparing much sooner. Of course, he doesn’t go to everyone, but according to what he says, he has always been positively disappointed. They were never hostile to him, because no one listens to these people, so they are happy when someone takes an interest in them.
“Have a nice day, would you like to have lunch with me?”
According to Dávid, asking the right questions is more than essential.
“Usually I say, “I wish you a good day, would you like to have lunch with me,” not “I have any ideas,” Dávid says, there is a huge difference between the two, and if he stays with the former, the conversation will be much more meaningful. The good demeanor and decency of the young TikTok star always make these conversations go well, but that’s not the only reason.
“I know what it’s like to have nothing”
“I lived in an orphanage, I know what it’s like to have nothing,” said Dávid, who was forced into state care with his two older brothers at a very young age.
“Our mother visited us every week, but we were the exception to the rule. Many children were visited by their parents once a year, and some were simply forgotten there,” recalled the angel of the homeless, who by the way graduated as a carpenter at the age of nineteen, and is now studying for his graduation in addition to his work. The final goal is a diploma, but I also want to continue making videos.
Dávid is motivated by the feedback he receives from others, but also on TikTok. In one of his videos, he dressed up and even took a homeless man to the hairdresser:
