Moscow. July 7th Interfax – With the start of the fire season, additional fire prevention measures are being taken, Deputy Moscow Mayor Pyotr Biryukov told reporters on Thursday.
“Because of the observance of the heat, fire safety control has been strengthened, primarily in natural areas, in park areas and the TiNAO,” Biryukov said.
Upon its detection, firefighters and rescuers patrol daily parking, forest park and specially protected areas, identify cases of unauthorized use of garbage, fallen grass, use of open fire and barbecues in non-targeted places.
“Specialists check that forest park areas are cleared of dry plants, deadwood and debris, talk with vacationers about the rules of safe behavior,” the deputy mayor said.
He clarified that in all districts consolidated detachments of irrigation equipment had been trained, and fire and mineralized strips on the borders of settlements had been equipped on the territory of the new Moscow.
Water intake points for aviation equipment have been deployed in advance, fire-fighting water supply has been organized in low-water areas, access roads to reservoirs and piers have been equipped, helipads have been prepared.
“We pay special attention to preventive work with the population, because the most common cause of natural fires is careless handling of fire,” Biryukov added.
For five days in a row, the penultimate, “orange” level of weather danger occurs.
According to the weather forecast, on Thursday it is expected up to 30 degrees, a possible thunderstorm, natural rains and the probability of wind up to 17 m/s.
