OM like Sofiane Diop, but…
Olympique de Marseille will be active on the transfer market this summer. This is what its president, Pablo Longoria, said on the sidelines of the presentation of Igor Tudor, the new coach of the Marseille club. The Spaniard explained it, between five and eight new faces are expected. This is at least what is needed to make the team more competitive and above all better able to meet the requirements of the new coach.
So far, two recruits have arrived. These are two defenders: Samuel Gigot, who had already signed last winter, and Isaak Touré, from Le Havre. On the departure side, those of Luis Henrique (Botafogo) and Nemanja Radonjic (Torino) are on the right track. This would therefore free up places in the offensive sector of OM.
Monaco don’t want to hear about a loan
According to our information, the Marseillais have a real attraction for the young attacking element of AS Monaco, Sofiane Diop (22 years old). To try to recover it, the Phocaeans, who are doing with the -tight- means at hand, have in mind a loan proposal with an option to buy. This system had already been Pablo Longoria’s favorite last summer.
But there is a catch. The club absolutely does not want to lend the Tourangeau, even less to a direct competitor. If Sofiane Diop leaves, it will be, it is rumored in the entourage of sports director Paul Mitchell, a permanent transfer or nothing at all. The positions are distant and as it stands no agreement seems in sight. But we have already observed much more spectacular reversals of the situation during the summer transfer windows…
