Concert: Snow Patrol, solar melancholy in Luxembourg

LUXEMBOURG – It was on the forecourt of the Abbaye de Neumünster that the British group delivered their melancholic rock ballads on Wednesday evening.
His reputation precedes him. Like the lyrics of his songs, which most often evoke breakups and complicated romantic relationships, Gary Lightbody drags his melancholy behind him. However, the head of Snow Patrol seemed radiant, multiplied a big smile, Wednesday evening. “It’s nice to be back here. I was walking around the city, and I got completely lost, and in the wrong direction. Thanks to whoever helped me!” confided the singer and guitarist of the British group.
For their part, the 2,500 fans present on the forecourt of the Abbey of Neumünster had previously had to take their troubles patiently. The concert of the formation from Dundee, Scotland, was indeed originally scheduled for the summer of 2019, as part of the tour of “Wildness”, the seventh studio album by Snow Patrol. Three years, a few health issues and a pandemic later, audiences could savor the moment.
If the romantic rockers performed a few recent songs, they gladly strolled through their discography. With powerful, melodic and melancholic titles, such as “Crack the Shutters”, “Run”, one of their first songs that touched fans in full and of course “Chasing Cars”, the biggest hit of Snow Patrol who made them known to the general public. Night fell on the historic site of Neumünster, accompanied by the riffs and melodies of the British.
