Cattolica, excellent response for the first two evenings of the “Festival of Sports Culture”
-Excellent response for the first two evenings of the “Festival of Sports Culture” which is taking place in Cattolica in Piazza I ° Maggio. The appointment with sportsmen, writers, personalities of sports culture who tell us that sport is lived “with muscles and with the heart”. The organization is organized by the “Rebounds off the pitch” Association, with the support and patronage of the Municipal Administration and numerous sponsors. The festival, now in its sixth edition, this year makes a special dedication to Franco Bolelli, sportsman, writer and philosopher, who passed away in October 2020. “Sport is honored first of all by practicing it, but also by taking its meaning beyond the confines of the field . Because in sport – wrote Bolelli – there are spectacular attractiveness, strength, epic, but first of all there are situations and behaviors that are valid for our entire existence, and which are capable of making it – and making us – better. ” (Like Ibra, Kobe, Bruce Lee – Add Editore, 2018) Opening every evening, at 9.00 pm, is the voice of Alessandra Giardina who gives emotions by reading an excerpt from Franco Bolelli’s book. The task of leading the spectators into the themes of the festival is carried out with the skill of the Artistic Director Paolo Pagnini. There was, however, the unexpected last hour with the opening guest Manuela Mantegazza, author and wife of Bolelli’s own, who was stuck in Milan due to Covid. The first evening however brought to the square one of the best “storytellers”, as he likes to call himself, Luca Pagliari who instilled hope, desire for life and desire for sport, telling the story of Giacomo Jack Sintini. Volleyball captain capable of winning on and off the pitch after fighting and dying from cancer. And again, for the second evening, Leo Turrini (journalist, writer, television commentator), Furio Zara (journalist, writer, television author), Eraldo Pecci (former football player, writer, television commentator), Gianni Bellini ( collector of stickers), Antonio Allegra (director of the Italian market of Panini). In particular, Leo Turrini, considered one of the greatest experts of Formula 1 and Ferrari, involved the public in the story of the duel between the Pirate (Marco Pantani) and the Cowboy (Lance Armstrong). A tale of a rivalry that could change the history of modern cycling. Eraldo Pecci, on the other hand, was awarded the traditional “Catholic Prize for Sport and Legality” by the organizers. Finally, the story of Gianni Bellini, known as the “greatest collector of stickers” in football, is curious. He boasts 4000 albums and 3 million stickers, together with Lorenzo Longhi he wrote the book “500 Figu per un Bordon” where he tells the emotion of the first sticker attached and the passion that involved his whole family. Two more unmissable events, until Thursday 7 July, to get excited with the stories of those who live and love sport.
