A step towards a more competitive Hungary
The institution cooperates with the Bay Zoltán Research Institute in the field of logistics and materials science, but no conscious, strategic cooperation has taken place so far. It records the current points of agreement, writing they can strengthen and promote each other’s activities the supply of specialists necessary for the development of research activity, said the rector.
The University of Miskolc is the first to join the national research network. The in cooperation, they defined research areas that could have a long-term impact on Hungary’s economic development. These include the most up-to-date ones for energy production and efficient energy use, the research suitable for the maintenance of critical infrastructures. Similarly important for reducing air pollution, the innovation activity related to the maintenance of critical infrastructures, transport, mobility, as well as the recycling of secondary raw materials – explained Norbertl Grasselli, managing director of the Bay Zoltán research network. The iinstitution but will also undertake it in Miskolc in the practical engineering training. The cooperation offers opportunities for efficient and effective use of the equipment park that the university has built up in recent years.
“This is a step in the direction of a competitive Hungary,” – the director firmly states the essence of the cooperation.
In Hungary, government support doubles the resources available for research and development, the number of which researchers are effectively increasing on a European scale. This was already emphasized by Zsófia Koncz, parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Technology and Industry, member of parliament, when welcoming the cooperation agreement. According to his opinion, the innovation partnership can be offered by the domestic industry producing high added value to its competitivenessthus for the economic development of the region and the country.
