A freight traffic lane on the Hungarian-Romanian border illuminated by an X-ray gate
Bucharest – It is possible to check whether illegal immigrants have hidden in the cargo space of an incoming truck.
A second freight traffic entry lane was also opened at the Pete-Csengersima road crossing on the Hungarian-Romanian border, and therefore the trucks are illuminated with an X-ray gate in order to filter out illegal immigrants, the border police announced on Wednesday.
On the occasion of the completion of the new freight traffic lane, the border police agencies of the two countries will hold detailed discussions on the possibilities of speeding up the meeting on Wednesday. At the meeting between Lieutenant General János Balogh, national police chief, and Chief Police Commissioner Victor Stefan Ivascu, the head of the Romanian border police, Chief of Police Marian Matei Benone, head of the Romanian police, was also present as an invitee.
In accordance with the international agreements in force (since we are talking about two EU member states)
even on the newly adopted lane, the vehicles are stopped for inspection only once, namely on the territory of the party, i.e. on the Hungarian side of the border.
The Szatmárném regional branch of the border police provides the appropriate number of trained personnel for border control – Romanian announcement issued by the Romanian side.
During the meeting, the Hungarian and Romanian police leaders inspected the X-ray gate installed at the Pete-Csengersima border crossing, which can be used to check whether illegal immigrants have hidden in the cargo hold of an entering truck.
