Thessaloniki: Intervention of a prosecutor for the cancellation of liver transformation in Hippocrates
The intervention of the First Instance Prosecutor’s Office of Thessaloniki was caused by the complaint about the cancellation of a liver transformation at Hippocrates Hospital, last week, due to the lack of an anesthetist, who was necessary to carry out the operation.
The head of the Prosecutor’s Office Panagiotis Panagiotopoulos instructed the misdemeanor prosecutor Athina Konstantinidou to conduct a preliminary examination to investigate whether the crime of endangerment has been completed.
According to the complaint, published in the Media, the liver message of a 27-year-old donor from Cyprus is intended to be transplanted last Saturday in Thessaloniki.
The graft was not lost, but…
However, the transplant did not take place because there was no anesthetist. But the transplant was not lost, as it was given for transplantation to another patient who was waiting, at the People’s Hospital of Athens.
In the context of the preliminary investigation and the search for any criminal liability, the relatives of the candidate recipient who presented themselves in Thessaloniki will be asked to testify in the first phase in order to distinguish the consequences to his health from the cancellation of the transplant.
