Description: As the veterinarian Anežka Krásná, PAvla Tomicová talks to the animals in the series ZOO, which her colleagues find a little crazy. Still, most of the time, they take her messages about the information her charges have revealed to her seriously. But this time, “Klapka” started instead of the planned dialogue for an even unexpected celebration. Sixty is celebrated only once in a lifetime.
When she danced in StarDance, she managed to somehow get her figure into shape thanks to training and restricting food. But soon the plump shapes returned again, as it happens to many chubby women. But now she showed off her slim figure to celebrate her 60th birthday. Her appetite may be smaller, but luckily she has not lost her appetite for life.
The round birthday celebrations on the set of the ZOO series were a surprise for the actress, but she enjoyed them all the more. As soon as the director Jaromír Polišenský ordered the actions, it meant for all the actors that they were singing Pavle Tomicová’s “Happy Birthday!”. And it was a surprise for Anežka from the series. She was expecting a dialogue, which turned into a small congratulations, a flower and a fruit basket.
“I noticed that people stopped wishing me to live this long again. I understand that it probably wouldn’t be possible anymore. I would like to be special, but I wouldn’t enjoy it here without my friends. It’s nice to be gifted, especially when it’s from people I’m comfortable with. I can’t say more about it, because the feelings and impressions can’t be described in words,” thought the actress, and everything ended with her ringing laugh.

A girl like a stick
Pavla Tomicová has never dealt with her overweight. Probably also because there were always enough fabulous roles for her, and many of them were based on the fact that the actress is one of the chubby girls, born on a happy planet, and always spreads a good mood around her. But then came the doctor’s warning finger, who diagnosed diabetes and recommended a diet and significant weight loss. Diabetes, but a reasonable person realizes that the best way to prevent complications associated with this disease is to adjust diet and exercise. Evidently, Pavla Tomicová is reasonable. She set a diabetic diet, started exercising, and the pounds slowly came off. The real downfall came during the last year, when she lost twenty kilos, a total of 35 kilos in three years.

Success in Karlovy Vary
At the festival in Karlovy Vary, at the premiere of the Czech competition film And then came the love of Pavla, she showed up in an elegant blue-and-white dress with an accentuated waist, which she could not have afforded even a year ago. However, her slender figure was not the main reason for her success at the festival. The press is predicting her to win the best actress award because her performance in the said film is impressive. Mirka Spáčilová in iDnes was full of praise: “Tomicová, in particular, literally sells herself out, whether she’s researching ‘women’s breakfast with a counter-hell’, she’s spinning a sad gender anamnesis of ‘eternal bad luck for men’ or she’s desperately hunting for the remnants of self-love and self-respect,” writes the critic, adding: ” And just for the wonderful etude of an inept driver who wanders confusedly, reverses and cries while driving, commenting “At least you can see how completely fucked up I am”, Tomicová clearly thinks about the festival award for best actress.” We’ll see how it turns out, for the actress anyway , known mainly from the series, the movie And then came love is a major career event.
Ten years with hairdresser Simona
Although she hasn’t played in Ulica for five years, people still sometimes call her Simono. For more than ten years, her character was one of those that the audience impatiently waits for the next performances. Pavla Tomicová gave Simona her temperament and humor, even though the character was definitely not a bed of roses. They loved Simona precisely for her great optimism and the ability to change dramatic situations with insight and jokes. When she finally said goodbye to Ulica in 2017, it was clear that her story line would not be easy to replace.
Hairdresser Simona flew into Ulica years ago and stirred up the story. “When a person likes someone, he will bite through everything, and love is blind,” Pavla once said about her problematic Pepan in the TV series played by Tomáš Matonoha; photo courtesy of TV Nova
Good series
However, Pavla has more serials to his credit. When she moved from Nova to Prima, she appeared in Ohnivé kuret and the Krejsovés. Then came the distinctive role of the shopkeeper Alena with a cut mouth, love of money, but also a kind heart in Sunny. After the end of this hit, she smoothly moved to the zoo, where she plays a laid-back veterinarian who can easily handle all the problems of various animal species, because she understands the language of animals. Well, at least that’s what he claims, but he has to perfectly tame all animal natures. It was in this role that Pavla changed from a chubby woman to a slender woman, but it did not change anything about her character, even if, as is the case with women her age, the weight loss added a few wrinkles to her face.

Home in Hradec Králové
Although the actress is very busy with work in Prague, she remains loyal to the city where her first puppet acting engagement at the DRAK theater in Hradec Králové brought her. Naturally, she went to the drama of the Klicper Theater and was engaged there for many years. Today he is only a guest here, but even though he also has a role in the Municipal Theaters in Prague or in Kalich, he still returns to the Klicper Theater. Next year, she will have the premiere there again, this time of the classic drama Její pastorkyňa. Pavla Tomicová lives with her husband in an old house that used to be the dormitory of the DRAK theater. She raised her children Anežka and Adam here, lived through one unhappy marriage and another in which her husband, actor Ondřej Malý, compensated her for all the hardships of the previous relationship.

Pokáč claims to be a family type
On the first day of the holiday, the new summer single of singer Pokáč was released. It is called Rodinný typ, and a light-hearted video clip was created for it, which approximates the content of the text in the image. Pokáč has a summer full of concerts, performances at weddings and preparations for his biggest concert to date. It takes place on September 24 this year in Prague’s O2 arena. After that, the singer will travel to Slovakia. “In my songs, I always cover topics that happen in my life. A year and a quarter ago, my wife and I had our first baby, and now family life is relevant for me. Before, I wrote songs about wanting to change the world or wanting to be famous, but now I perceive the world from different perspectives,” says Pokáč with a bit of exaggeration.
“I think that we will find enough people, family types, who like to take their family and go to a cottage or a trip. We Czechs are, after all, a nation of huts. At the same time, I’ve never written a song about how I enjoy family life,” he adds. He admits that he experienced many of the situations described in the text as the son of his parents. For example, I still consider trips to local castles and chateaux to be the biggest annoyance he experienced in his childhood. “Spending a weekend at two or three castles, each with a two-hour tour, is certainly great and educational, but I didn’t really appreciate it at the time,” he explains.

Pokáč has a really full summer concert program. While last year in July, when the anti-pandemic measures were relaxed, he had twenty-four performances, this year there are almost thirty of them. “It’s a lot, but it’s great. The Covid breaks were long, and thank God that you can now play normally. People come, they want to have fun,” he claims.
Alena Zárybnická recommends enjoying your vacation in any weather
Alena Zárybnická has been working in meteorology for some 25 to 30 years. She still enjoys her work very much, which, according to her, few people can say after so many years. A big motivation is when the weather forecast works out for her, which unfortunately doesn’t happen every time. “I grew up at the airport, I understood that if I want to help the collective at the airport and I’m not a man, then the only chance is in meteorology,” she explained in an interview on Frequency 1, how she got into weather forecasting. It is said that it is much easier for a woman to look at maps and amaze everyone with a forecast of what tomorrow will be like than to repair an engine or wind a rope.
Today, according to Alena, weather forecasts are more accurate, but on the other hand, they are subject to much more scrutiny. “We have much larger representative patterns of erroneous predictions that can improve us in retrospect,” she added. On the graphs of the Czech Meteorological Institute, she found that the quality of the forecast for the 1st day 20 years ago today corresponds to the forecast for the 5th day, which is a very significant shift forward. “My favorite weather forecasting app is the Swiss Meteoblue, which combines several meteorological models and simply gives an insight into the probability of the results,” she revealed. If the models match, then the prediction is very likely.

What’s more, he not only learns what the weather is supposed to be like, but also what probability he has to calculate with the forecast. “If you take a vacation for the whole summer, I can at least promise you a few nice days,” she replied with a laugh to Honza Dędek’s question when I should take vacation this year. There is no uniform pattern when you take a week of vacation in the summer. Therefore, according to her, the only advice is: “Enjoy your vacation in any weather.”
Alena Zárybnická recently christened the book Alps on Bike 2. “For me, it is far more important than how and how long I get to the hill, what I see from it in the end,” she introduced the new book. So she doesn’t mind sometimes pushing or carrying the bike on her back, especially if she gets to the top in her beloved Alps.
