The Palacongressi di Rimini will host the European Robotics Forum – ERF 2024
The candidacy, supported by the University of Bologna, by AIM Group International, by the destination Rimini and by the Event & Conference Division of the Italian Exhibition Group, has arrived in Italy one of the most important international robotics congresses.
The European Robotics Forum 2024, one of the most important international robotics congresses, will take place in Rimini. The candidacy, supported by the University of Bologna, AIM Group International, the destination and the Rimini Conference Center of the Italian Exhibition Group, managed to bring this important annual event to Italy, beating important European competitors. From 13 to 15 March 2024 between 800 and 1,000 participants are expected in Rimini. The decision was recently ratified by the international association euRobotics aisbl, which chose Rimini to call the main players in European robotics to a congress. The objectives of the Association are to promote research, development and innovation in this field, in favor of the economy and society.
The European Robotic Forum engineers and researchers in an interactive interactive meeting and involves them in an open discussion: it is in fact a ‘congress’ based only on face-to-face sessions but a Forum characterized by the sharing of experiences, knowledge and good practices. Over the years, ERF has been held in Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Finland, Romania, Spain and the last edition of 2022 took place in the last of the Netherlands.
In the final phase of the candidacy, useful for entering the 2024 Forum, it saw destinations such as France, Norway and Germany compete with Stuttgart, a very strong candidate as it is at the center of an important automotive industrial district. The challenge to bring the Forum to Rimini was not easy, even considering that in Italy the event has already taken place three times in the past (Rovereto 2014, Palermo 2006, Pisa 2002) and never in Germany.
The successor was obtained thanks to a great teamwork in support of the candidacy carried out by several hands: from the Rimini destination, from the PCO AIM Group International and from the two academics of international importance in the panorama of robotics, Prof. Lorenzo Marconi, of the Department of Electrical Energy and Information Engineering Guglielmo Marconi of the University of Bologna and fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Prof. Bruno Siciliano, of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies of the University of Naples Federico II, Director of ICAROS Center and Board Member of euRobotics. The involvement in the technical-scientific committee of important associative and industrial realities such as I-RIM, Leonardo Labs, SIRI and ANIPLA was precious. “ERF is one of the most important events for the international scientific community operating in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.
The appointment differs from others for the involvement of both the academic and industrial communities, and for being the event during which the European Union promotes new calls in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. The support of the University of Bologna, the Emilia-Romagna Region, local institutions and many industrial realities in the area was decisive for bringing the event to Italy. As a teacher of the Alma Mater and a citizen of Rimini, I am doubled by the result achieved ”, says prof. Lorenzo Marconi.
The effective dossier presented not only the territory and the infrastructures of excellence adequate to host the event, but also the quality of a series of advanced industrial areas (automotive, wellness, food, packaging and big data in Emilia-Romagna that are strongly related to robotics. In fact, the scientific program of the Forum will include a series of technical visits to companies in these supply chains. of major international meetings and always in synergy with the ‘city system’ to produce a competitive offer of the increasingly popular destination in Europe, has collaborated since the beginning with the Marketing & Sales Group International, which has made available its strong experience in international nominations.
“The synergy between the intense research activity carried out by our staff and the proactivity of AIM Group has already produced excellent results” commented Fabio De Santis, director of the Event & Conference division of Italian Exhibition Group which manages the IEG offices in Rimini and Vicenza. “Think also of the IUFoST World Food Congress 2024. Now we await further feedback from the joint initiatives already launched. ERF 2024 is added to a program of international events that will offer about fifteen appointments in Rimini already scheduled by 2025 “. “We are proud of this important result that enriches the pipeline of our Group already so full of international events in the coming years, teamwork has been one of the fundamental elements for achieving the success of our proposal” declare Claudia Frascari and Marica Motta of AIM International Group.
