San Marino. The San Marino Workers’ Union at a congress from 20 to 21 July
The organization for the realization of the IV Confederal Congress and Federation Congresses has already started, which will take place on 20 and 21 July at the Grand Hotel in San Marino.
The San Marino Workers Union announced this, adding that, “at the same time, innumerable pre-Congress meetings are underway in all the workplaces of the private and public sectors to designate delegates to the Congresses”.
“Usually the Congress is a beautiful common moment of sharing, evaluating, comparing, even celebrating if we want – he says Giorgia Giacomini General Secretary of the USL– but today the holding of the IV Congress takes place in an extremely complex moment both for our country and at the international level “.
The aftermath of the economic crisis that started way back in 2008, a pandemic condition that continues to persist with enormous human, social and economic costs and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which worries and generates a strong solidarity of all Western democracies . The conflict, in addition to the humanitarian tragedy, is creating an economic recession also caused by the increase in raw materials and a “skyrocketing”.
Moreover, never before have technological innovation, artificial intelligence and climate change been having an extraordinary impact on our lives, on our habits and on our work as in recent years. The work as we lived it until the beginning of 2020 will no longer exist and the years will be the years of challenges, of experimentation, of putting ourselves to the test for companies, union governments, committed to building a new economic model based on knowledge, training, environmental sustainability, humanized technology, high levels of employment and social equity.
“The union will have a future only if it manages to intercept, understand and interpret change – continues Giorgia Giacomini – here is the title of our Congress: A Union that looks to tomorrow: we value work and invest in knowledge to build our future. The title wants to be a concrete message of commitment but also of hope and optimism for all female workers, citizens and in particular the younger generations today often in great difficulty in orienting themselves in an increasingly complex labor market. “
We must be a union that looks to the future, that guides choices, that places the person at the center, restoring value and work, first of all protecting the rights accompanied by a strong commitment and duty, investing in knowledge, in continuous training to rebuild the our future.
The Congressional Theses, which will shortly be presented to all members, will be a stimulus to the debate and congress proposals: in fact, it contains food for thought, reasoning, on some fundamental themes. The relaunch of the concept in all sectors, reforms, the PA at the service of the country, gender policies, development policies, environmental sustainability, policies to protect and support the family, the right to work, the right to health and safety, the right to social inclusion, equality, a society made to measure for pensioners and pensioners are just some of the arguments contained in the thesis.
The challenge for the social partners will be to promote social dialogue and reconcile development-oriented policies and environmental sustainability that supports production activities, businesses, creativity, competitiveness and innovation without forgetting the issue of the stability of the social fabric through and modern policies of welfare, inclusion, quality education and training, to build a working environment that aims at full employment and fulfillment of the person: more than future declarations of intent, next will count the concrete actions, fueled by this renewed awareness.
We would like to remind you that the union is concretely made up of people who through their support and trust make it strong and determined in its actions: USL thanks to the women and men who have always believed in this project, today it is strong, solid and to increasingly support the rights and needs of all, to leave no one behind and to carry forward all the ideas and proposals of the Congress that will arise from the debate of our Congress.
“We hope for an important participation in this Assembly – continues the Secretary General – because we know well that alone we do not go anywhere, together instead, by participating united in the great changes of our time, we can build a free, just, prosperous and in rhythm”.
