San Marino. Official visit of the Most Excellent Captains Regent in Montenegro
“The Most Excellent Captains Regent, Oscar Mina and Paolo Rondelli met the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, returning the state visit that the Montenegrin President made to the Republic on March 3 and 4”.
The Foreign Affairs Department gives the news, specifying: “The San Marino Delegation arrived yesterday in Montenegro and led by Loro Excellences, is composed of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, the Secretary of State for Industry, Fabio Righi, by the Ambassador of San Marino in Montenegro, Chiara Cardogna, by the Director of the Ceremonial Silvia Berti and by the Secretary of the Embassy Bojana Gruska.
Welcomed in Podgorica in the beautiful setting of the Residence of the President of Montenegro, the Regency carried out an extensive and detailed discussion with the Montenegrin Head of State, open to the participation of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs; the tête-à-tête at the institutional top made it possible to retrace the most recent phase of the excellent existing relations, with a projection on the path underway between the two countries in the international scenario, particularly in Europe.
At the center of the discussion was the particular link between the states divided by the shores of the Adriatic and moving towards an ever greater collaboration, also in the light of the most recent steps in the European bodies, starting from the respective positions taken towards the European Union , to the dynamic and prospective role they both play in EUSAIR.
It was in fact in the context of the subsequent meeting extended to the two delegations that the collaborations in progress were recalled, in the spirit of wanting to proceed even more quickly towards the achievement of common objectives integration in the European chessboard, dominated today by the strong concerns caused by the conflict ongoing in Ukraine.
Precisely in the light of the patrimony of values, both delegations recalled the opportunity to affirm the principles of peace and security between Peoples and Nations in all offices, underlining the firm condemnation of military aggression and the authorities of international and humanitarian law. .
At the bilateral level, the official visit will facilitate further strengthening of cooperation; it is confirmed the Foreign Affairs of the Memorand in the political consultations between the two Ministries of Affairs, which the Secretary of State for Affairs Beccari will sign tomorrow the equivalent Minister of Affairs Ranko Krivokapić.
The meeting between the Heads of State was also an opportunity for President Đukanović to deliver the Order of the Montenegrin Grand Star to the Exc. Captains Regent.
The Heads of State and the accompanying Delegation were then transferred to Villa Gorica for the meeting with Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, who expressed great satisfaction with the visit and the excellent level of bilateral relations. He also reiterated the opportunity to strengthen collaborations in the economic field to ensure better future prospects for both states, also through the foundations that the visit can lay through meetings at the highest ministerial levels.
The Secretary of State Beccari further recalled the strengthening of relations in the most recent period, also underlining the opportunity to finalize some agreements on the subject of and promotion of (PPI) and the abolition of double taxation (DTA) and anticipated the meeting of the colleague to industry, Fabio Righi, destined to finalize an agreement on scientific and technological cooperation. The meeting also made it possible to retrace the steps in tackling the pandemic and to share positions regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Beccari also reiterated that the two official visits that took place within a few months, together with the connected high-level institutional meetings, do not represent a point of arrival but lead the two countries towards a further development of relations which, in the future, will have to involve also the private sector. This involvement will be characterized by a phase of collaboration and will have the objective of increasing trade exchanges and various forms of economic cooperation ”.
