Sugar Mizzy July 5, 2022

The main fashion event of summer 2022 – Omsk Fashion Weekend – brought together the best young designers in Russia.

The second large-scale art project Omsk Fashion Weekend took place in Omsk. The holiday of fashion, design and arts has become a bright symbol of the hot summer in Omsk. It is organized by the Omsk art residence of OmSTU in collaboration with the Department of Costume Design of OmSTU. All OFW events were held in the city museum “Art of Omsk” – more than 200 people were able to see 190 fashionable images from 64 designers from all over the country.

– We are very happy to return to a full-fledged offline format of projects, these are feelings of feelings and emotions that are not transmitted through the screen. Nevertheless, we are transforming and bringing online broadcasts that have already become familiar to us. Today it is difficult to imagine large projects without online viewers, because we are being watched not only in Russia, we want to show our capabilities – said the director of the Center for Material Culture and Design of Omsk State Technical University, project manager of the Omsk art residence Valery Lushchikov.

II Art project Omsk Fashion Weekend caused several events:

  • Reporting display of the best works of design students from the Omsk School of Costume Design. The guests saw more than 50 fashionable looks from 41 designers from one of the most famous design schools in Russia. A feature of the “first part” of OFW was a fashion show with live music. Models in the best works of students of the Omsk Costume Design School walked the runway, accompanied by a philharmonic string quartet, a pronounced synergy of visual and acoustic images.
  • Pro-show of meetings and all-Russian brands come from Siberia. The audience saw 7 collections of successful young (and not only) designers with brand DNA: AP-design, Anna Berezovskaya, IZI WEAR, MECHTALOVA&SOYA, POLLYMERRE, FORMABLACK, MB nanowear. More than 60 models of brands in their collections.
  • Grand defile of additional regional events of the XIII competition of young designers “Russian Silhouette”.

The project experts evaluated the collection according to the results of the “sketch selection”, the jury determined the finalists – 16 young designers from Omsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Tyumen, Barnaul, Shakht (Rostov region). On July 2, as part of the fashion show, guests and viewers saw 16 collections and 80 fashionable looks from young designers from all over the country. The work of 11 fashion experts was evaluated.
