Local planet #34 on BFM Marseille: Enogia, Green Marine Europe and Clear Fashion
For this new program of Planète locale, a program broadcast by BFM Marseille Provence in partnership with Gomet’, Julie Rampal, journalist at Gomet’, and Sophie Hébrard broadcast on set on CEO of Enogia, Arthur Leroux. This explains the operation of the micro-turbines (called ORC) manufactured by Enogia in Marseille which allow its customers to transform waste heat into electricity for reuse or resale. A technology particularly used in the maritime sector, to recycle emissions lost in fuel exhausts and engine cooling circuits. The company was also present at the Euromaritime show which took place from June 28 to 30. Arthur Leroux also talks about the partnership forged with Ademe Investissement and Eiffel. Finally, he mentions the company’s turn towards hydrogen: indeed, Enogia is working on the creation of an air supply compressor for fuel cells, which makes it possible to create hydrogen, a renewable energy which reduces CO2 emissions.
On the environmental news side, we come back to the discount of the Marine Verte Europe label which took place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Marseille on June 27, during which four local shipowners were honored: CMA-CGM, Ponant, La Méridionale and Corsica Linea. This label crowns the efforts made by these shipping companies to limit their impact on air and water quality and on marine biodiversity.
Finally, the object of the week this time was a phone application: clear fashion, which allows you to scan clothing labels to find out their impact on the environment. Handy during sales! Created in Reims in 2019 and deployed in Marseille for more than a year, the company and its committee of experts have chosen four criteria to assess this impact: the materials used, respectful working conditions for employees, effects on health and finally animal welfare.
