ELF relies on public transport and shuttles for arrival
Traffic
180,000 visitors are expected from Wednesday at the Electric Love Festival (ELF) at the Salzburgring (Flachgau). In order to avoid traffic jams as far as possible, the organizers rely on public transport and a dense free shuttle service from Salzburg’s main train station to the festival site.
In recent years, the organizers have worked with emergency services to develop a comprehensive traffic concept, primarily to reduce traffic jams when traveling to and from the festival. There are free shuttles for all festival visitors from Wednesday to Sunday from the main station and back. The buses will also run between these two destinations during the festival – every 30 minutes. You can find detailed information on how to get here here.
Expect traffic jams, especially on Sundays
This gives visitors the opportunity to explore the city of Salzburg and the Fuschlsee region during the day – without having to get into their own car. There is also a separate Kiss & Go and taxi area as well as bicycle parking facilities at the entrance to the festival site for day visitors who want to travel to the Salzburgring individually.
The experience of the last few years shows that traffic jams on the B158 in the area between Fuschl and Hof are to be expected, especially on Sundays when departing traffic, says the head of the state traffic department of the police, Friedrich Schmidhuber, and adds: When the weather is nice, you have to come along many bathing excursionists in the direction of Fuschlsee, Mondsee and Wolfgangsee.
