Donald Trump almost started a trade war with Sweden over A $ AP Rocky’s prison – News
Donald Trump has been said by Sweden’s Minister of Justice to have “threatened trade war” with Sweden over A $ AP Rocky’s prison.
In 2019, A $ AP Rocky was arrested and imprisoned in Stockholm, Sweden after a video appeared of the rapper and his team in a street fight with fans who reportedly harassed them.
Former US President Donald Trump started the call to free Rocky and went so far as to tweet that he was “very disappointed” with Sweden’s then Prime Minister Stefan Lofven.

Swedish newspaper Today’s news reported that Sweden’s Minister of Justice Morgan Johansson said that Trump warned the Swedish government of “trade restrictions” if Rocky was not released.
He added that he allegedly spoke to the European Commission, the EU’s head, for support.
“This story shows how important it really is to stand up for our legal principles and not to take our democracy for granted,” the minister said. “If you can try to do something like this against Sweden, what will you try to do against slightly weaker countries that do not have the EU behind them?”
Last year, however, A $ AP Rocky claimed that Trump did not help him get out of a Swedish prison in violation of comprehensive reporting and Trump’s version of events.

Rocky said earlier in his documentary about the incident Stockholm syndrome“I was a little scared that Trump would fuck it, but on the other hand, I’m just like ‘that’s what’s going on, man,'” Rocky said, describing his initial reaction to Trump’s involvement in the case.
Rocky described that he was half awake when the news got him.
“I sleep in my halfway dream, I heard my name. I kind of opened my eyes and closed my eyes again and then they said my name again. And I opened my eyes and I thought, ‘Yo, what the hell?'” He says in the documentary from 2021.
Earlier this year, Rocky was arrested in LAX in connection with a shooting that occurred in November.
The arrest was made in connection with a “quarrel between two acquaintances” that ended with gunfire being fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
