Two of Boris Johnson’s ministers have resigned: they do not trust the prime minister
London – The head of the British finance and health ministries has announced his departure from the government.
British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid resigned on Tuesday. Both justified their decision by saying that their trust in Prime Minister Boris Johnson was shaken.
The almost simultaneous departure of Sun and Javid from Johnson’s government.
Both are among the most influential members of the ruling British Conservative Party.
Sunak – who is considered by many within the Conservative Party as a possible successor to Johnson – explained his decision in a letter to the Prime Minister, stating that the country’s legitimate expectation is appropriate, competent and serious governance.
The former finance minister referred back to the vote of confidence submitted against Johnson by his own faction a few weeks ago, and wrote: he is now certain that the situation will not change under the leadership of Boris Johnson, and the prime minister has therefore lost his trust.
