An immersive dive into the work of Van Gogh. It’s a unique experience that you will be able to live from tomorrow in Toulouse, at Espace EDF Bazacle. This is where the exhibition, or rather the show “Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” is set up for four months.
Its premiere From a cathedral in Naples, in November 2018, “Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” traveled to several European countries and the United States. Gathering more than 5 million visitors. What makes the success of this immersive exhibition?
For visitors, it’s a 360° artistic and digital experience that invites them to immerse themselves in more than 300 sketches, drawings and paintings by Van Gogh. In order for the immersion to be total, animated works are projected on a large scale, from floor to ceiling, in a vast projection area. 400m2 are allocated to the Dutch painter at the Espace Bazacle in Toulouse.
The exhibition allows visitors a sensory and emotional journey accompanying the life of the artist from his beginnings in the Netherlands, through the influences of Impressionism in Paris, to Provence and Arles, where light and colors allow him to perfect a new painting technique.
Some of his major works of art from the end of the 19th century will be created there. The end of his life in Auvers-sur Oise is also evoked in this exhibition. Van Gogh leaves behind him a major production, with more than 800 works produced in ten years between 1880 and 1890.
This experience brings art to life in the movements and vibrant colors of the Dutch painter, a unique opportunity to see the complete and sometimes tormented work of the artist.
On the technical side, the exhibition is made possible thanks to state-of-the-art “video mapping” technology. Animations were created in collaboration with over 40 renowned digital artists
