From 84.3 million validations registered in the metro stations of Toulouse in 2021, more than half were on the 18 stations of the line A (42.5 million, precisely), who will be 30 years old in 2023. At the same time, those of the line Bwhich celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2022, have garnered 41.8 million validations.
If line A went back in front of line B, when the order had been reversed before the Covid, all these figures are in sharp decline due to the epidemic, since Tisséo recorded in 2018 some 53.3 million validations on line A, and 57 million on line B.
One in five travelers to Jean-Jaurès
Unsurprisingly, it is Jean Jaurès, epicenter of the Toulouse network, where lines A and B intersect, that the number of users remains by far the largest. The two stations prance at the top of the most generated in the Pink City, with 8,124,176 validations recorded on the line B side, and 7,648,228 on the line A side. Jean-Jaurès still welcomes one in five travelers of the entire Toulouse metro network!
The hypercentre and the most produced terminals
In addition to Jean-Jaurès, on both lines, the most mentioned stations come as no surprise in the hypercenter of Toulouse, and to a lesser extent to the various terminus.
On line A, behind Jean-Jaurès, the busiest station remains that of Arenas (4 914 176), ahead of all those in the city center: Marengo SNCF (3,610,698), Capitol (3,483,026), Esquirol (2,822,594) and Saint Cyprian (2,316,106). The terminus of Balma Gramont (2,948,001) accommodates more users than the latter two, and than that of Basso Cambo (2,335,571).
On line B, where Jean-Jaurès crushes the competition even more, traffic is more or less balanced between Compans Caffarelli (3,104,392) and Jeanne D’Arc (3,055,928), front Francois Verdier (2,411,215) and courthouse (2,363,419). The terminals of Bordeaux (2,581,630) and Ramonville (2,001,377) see slightly fewer passengers than their line A counterparts.
Fontaine-Lestang, the most shunned metro station
On arrival, only four stations welcome less than a million visitors, including three on line A: Fountain Lestang is by far the least requested of the Toulouse network, with only 420,980 validations, ahead of Mermoz (649,969) and Reynerie (906,505). On line B, the station Minimes – Claude Nougaro is used by some 746,902 travellers.
