Bad news for travelers. Due to a national industrial action by the personnel of several SNCF Group companies, “the train traffic will be very disrupted Wednesday, July 6, 2022 on all lines in Normandyfrom and to Paris”, namely the SNCF on July 4 by means of a press release.
Railway workers are demanding a salary increase in the face of inflation. “The post-pandemic and geostrategic context, with the war in Ukraine, is causing a price spike unmatched for 40 years”, worries in a joint press release to the CGT-Cheminots, SUD-Rail and the CFDT. It is also specified that this strike notice relates only to the day of July 6.
Few trains go circular
On the Paris-Rouen-Le Havre line, 14 trains (including 8 Citi) will run throughout the day. There will be no traffic on intra-regional lines.
To compensate for the reduced number of trains, the maximum capacity of each train running will be increased to its maximum, i.e. around 1,000 seats.
The SNCF invites “travellers who can cancel or postpone their trips planned for this day, and to favor teleworking”.
