Portugal will be at the fair with, 19 cyclists, between men and women, who start at the junior road farm, which start in Anadia, Thursday. In the men’s sector, coach José Poeira called up six juniors (António Morgado, Daniel Lima, Gonçalo Tavares, Rúben Rodrigues, Tiago Santos and Tiago Nunes) and six under-23s (Afonso Silva, Pedro Andrade, Afonso Eulálio, Pedro Silva, António Ferreira and Pedro Pinto).

“We have runners in both categories who are doing well in the time trial. The big bet will be on the long-distance events, both in juniors and under-23”, said José Poeira, in deep statements by the Portuguese Cycling Federation.

For the junior category events, the women’s national road coach, José Luís Algarra, summoned Mariana Líbano, Íris Chagas and Inês Santos and for the under-23s summoned by Sofia Gomes, Beatriz Roxo, Daniela Campos and Beatriz Pereira.

“It’s a course and, in the race, we’ll be able to achieve the result. In the test of a race tactically, prepare well and be able to help work well for our group. It will certainly be a very difficult race, because in both categories, several categories will be very high and the path of the mousetraps”, said Algarra, in statements released by the Portuguese Cycling Federation.

The European Junior and Under-23 Road Championships will take place from July 7th to 10th, in Anadia.
