Near Toulouse, this club multiplies charitable actions
the Rotary Club of L’Union-Saint-Jean initiate a new dynamic. The objective of this club created in 2018 is to initiate and pursue charitable actions throughout the year, faithful to the motto “Serve first and serve to change lives”.
Tuesday, June 28, the Rotary Club of L’Union-Saint-Jean organized a handover evening between the now former president and his successor. Philippe de La Jonquière thus passed on the traditional presidency necklace to Jean-Paul Amsellem. The opportunity to salute the “big family” represented by Rotary and all the clubs that make up its network around the world.
Repollination, help for college students, book boxes…
But this evening was also an opportunity to induct new members into the club. Remarkable fact for an organization which was then made up of 12 members, 6 additional people will now participate in the actions set up by Rotary. This wind of novelty and solidarity promises to strengthen the operations initiated previously. Among them, the Rotary Club of L’Union-Saint-Jean recently organized the sale of roses and champagne in order to buy hives and participate in the repollination of the territory.
The club also launched the operation”1 student – 1 computer“to collect computers from private individuals or companies and offer them to college students from low-income families after upgrading the devices. About a hundred students were able to benefit from this computer equipment. next delivery of book boxes at the town hall of L’Union or the broadcast, in preview, of “Simone, the journey of the century”, a film attributed to Simone Veil.
We bet that with the arrival of new members and the breath of youth they have brought, the Rotary Club of L’Union-Saint-Jean will continue its commitment to a fairer world.
