Four teams have left the West District League, two have been promoted, one team has been withdrawn, and one team is no longer eligible to play. Great joy in the first classes – four teams were promoted to the district league west. The field of participants has changed significantly for 2022/23 – high excitement is guaranteed.
This is how St. Leonhard recorded the ascent
Yesterday morning, our FC Siglu St.Leonhard received historic news: After a team withdrawal in the district league east, we are promoted to the district league as third in the 1st class west. Thus, history is being written in St. Leonhard, FCS has never played higher than in the first class. With this in mind, congratulations and a big thank you to our coach Marco Dobler (first half of the season) and Erwin Melmer (second half of the year), to all the players, all the helping arms in the club, but of course also a huge thank you to our incredibly great and loyal fans! Now it is important to support each other well in order to be able to show our football in the district league. Training starts on Monday, July 4th, 2022 and our boys are hotter than ever!
More climbers and teams that are no longer there
Let’s start with the positive changes. SK Rum and SC Eglo Schwaz have risen. Schwaz II will play in the regional league east in the coming season, while SK Rum will play in the regional league west. Mieminger Plateau, Sellraintal, WSG Tirol 1c and St. Leonhard are promoted to the West District League. Zirl II withdrew the team during the championship, Wacker Innsbruck 1c is no longer there due to the bankruptcy of the professional department. Wacker Innsbruck’s protest against the TFV’s decision not to be allowed to compete in the regional league was dismissed. This means that FC Wacker Innsbruck WILL most likely play in the Tirol Liga – the first game is to be kicked off in Kirchbichl.
