The announcement of the organizers quotes Diána Széles, deputy mayor of Debrecen (Fidesz-KDNP), who says that Lake Tisza has become one of the popular destinations for tourists from Debrecen. As Imre Lendvay, managing director of Tisza-VÍZ Víztermelő és Szolgáltató Kft., operator of the open water beach, added: last year, most of the 150,000 visitors to Tiszafüred’s Szabadstrand came from Debrecen.

Imre Ujvári, the mayor of Tiszafüred (Fidesz-KDNP) highlighted in the announcement that Debrecen has been the guest of honor for Tiszafüred’s major cultural events several times.

The series of events of the Fish Days is based on a variety of fish dishes. On Saturday, the cooking competition of the 5th Tisza Fish Food Festival will be held on Halas Square. The raw materials for the cooking competition are provided by Tisza-tavi Sporthorgász Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft. for the participants. According to managing director Gábor Hegedüs, the attractiveness of Lake Tisza is shown by the fact that Sporthorgász Kft. counts with 130,000 fishing days per year, the fishermen who go there always return home with a catch rich in fish, the total amount reaching 200,000 kilograms. In terms of caught predatory fish, especially in the case of catfish, Lake Tisza leads the way – quotes Gábort Hegedüs in the announcement.

For this year’s Fish Days in Tiszafüred, visitors are welcomed with dozens of musical, cultural, sports and gastronomic programs at seven locations. He gives a concert with Pápai Joci, Caramel, Nótár Mary, Vad Fruttik, Bagossy Brothers Company, Punnany Massif and TNT among others. Apart from them, the Szolnok Symphony Orchestra and several art ensembles will also perform. During the four days, there will also be a stall fair where more than a hundred artisans and local products will offer their wares.

On the first day of the program series, Thursday, the Hableány Conference Hall and Vigado will host the City Day event. On Saturday, in addition to the cooking competition, those who want to relax will also be treated to a PikNik Movie. Sunday at Halas Square “Know more – Live better!” – The Kulturált Közlekedésért Foundation organizes a traffic safety training program.

At the weekend, a Beach Soccer Tournament is also organized on the open beach. Children are welcome with a playhouse and a children’s concert.

Local residents can visit all locations of the event for free with a city card.

According to the announcement, the history of the Tiszafüred Fish Days goes back more than four decades. The first fish “folk festival” was organized in 1978 with the aim of encouraging Tiszafüred and the surrounding settlements to unite.
