a PL midfielder to replace Tchouaméni?
After the very good season of Aurélien Tchouaméni which ended with a transfer to Real Madrid. AS Monaco sees itself having significant resources to find the ideal replacement. A track would lead them to a former L1 player.
In order to compete in the Champions League play-offs and thus be able to dream of a group stage which has eluded them for four years, Monaco has gone in search of reinforcements to achieve its ends. Following the arrival of the Japanese Takumi Minamino, the Rocher club continued its research in England by placing its evolution on Boubakary Soumaré, the Leicester midfielder. Author of a more than mixed season for his first experience abroad with only one assist in 19 appearances on the grounds of the Premier League, the French international hope (14 selections) is announced on the departure. An interesting track for the club of the principality which could be possible with a former player of the French championship. He notably won the title with LOSC during the 2020-2021 season, before signing with Leicester where he won the Community Shield upon his arrival.
Philippe Clément’s priority target
The native of the Paris region is the priority of Monegasques, who will certainly have to face strong competitors in this case. The Foxes priced Soumaré around the 25 million euros but no one doubts that the ASM will try to lower the price. In case of failure, the leaders would look at the profile of the Belgian Amadou Onana, which evolves in Lille, but the latter is on the shelves of West Ham which would have already made an offer of around 23 million euros, refused by the club. The midfield file risks agitating the edges of the principality for a long time to come.
