The fire in Zápe near Prague has been extinguished after 36 hours, the intervention is still ongoing
“The owner of AD Partner estimated the damage at 100 million crowns,” said Dagmar Zemanová, spokeswoman for the Central Bohemian Fire Department. No one was injured in the fire.
“At night, the firemen found a hidden source of the fire, there may have been a reduction in forces and deployed resources. The rescue unit of the fire brigade has stopped its activities on the spot, but the units of professional and volunteer firefighters are still there, cleaning the surroundings of the burnt hall after the demolition,” said Zemanová.
Criminal investigators will begin to investigate the cause of the fire when the firefighters finish their work. “The police are on the scene, we carried out a partial search on Saturday and it is documented by a drone, but only after the fight is over will a police handler with a specially trained dog be able to enter the scene and we can start taking further steps,” said police spokeswoman Vlasta Suchánková on Sunday.
At the time of the highest degree on the night from Friday to Saturday, approximately 110 firefighters were on the scene. They set up a temporary gas station in Zápe. The highest, fourth level of alarm, which the fire department uses on Saturday before 02:30 a.m. to the second, was announced. The structural engineer recommended demolishing the building.
The fourth level of alarm is declared by the fire department in case of emergency, for example, if a higher number of responding units is deployed. 30 vehicles and 17 units of professional and volunteer firefighters were used to extinguish the fire in Zápe, and the Prague fire brigade also helped. The chemical unit of the fire brigade from Kamenice was on site monitoring whether too many pollutants were leaking into the air. Firefighters did not find any harmful values.
Firefighters evacuated five people and pets from nearby residential buildings.
