Many questions after the savage murder of a 20-year-old girl near Toulouse

Sugar Mizzy July 3, 2022

the essential
The 27-year-old man suspected of the murder of a 20-year-old girl on Friday in Saint-Orens in Haute-Garonne could be placed in police custody on Saturday evening.

What reasons led a 27-year-old man to stab to death a 20-year-old girl he knew well and her 22-year-old boyfriend on Friday evening in Saint-Orens-de-Gameville in the East Toulouse? The gendarmes of the Villefranche-de-Lauragais research brigade are working to unravel the springs of a dramatic scenario. At first, they couldn’t hear the supposed killer. Wounded in the hand, he was hospitalized. His police custody was able to resume on Saturday evening to continue this Sunday.

The victim’s boyfriend, for his part, is rescued but was severely injured on the upper body, face, neck and chest. His attacker stabbed him fifteen times before he managed to escape to alert neighbors. Very shocked, he could be heard by the gendarmes who are trying to understand how this evening has changed.

In the house, the killer hounded his victims to the point that it was a real “bloodbath” when help arrived. The man taken into custody is not particularly known as someone violent. His relatives admit to being “flabbergasted”. “We do not understand what could have happened,” they explain.

The investigation is open for assassination and attempted assassination. However, will premeditation be accepted? Did he come armed with one or more knives to the young woman? Did he seize it at her home?

A friendly acquaintance

What had he to reproach the couple for coming to nuances? Did he come with the intention of killing or simply to have an explanation? Did he just want to scare them?

The victims and their attacker knew each other amicably. Could a conflict have broken out on a background of jealousy or debt? Was the killer in his normal state at the time of the events? Investigators must attempt to understand and answer all of these questions.

The assault occurred around 10:40 p.m. on Friday at the girl’s home, a small pavilion on the outskirts of town. After the fact, the 27-year-old man escaped but ended up surrendering. A person with whom he is named called the gendarmes around 1 a.m. so that they could come and arrest him.

At the end of his police custody, the man should be indicted on Monday. A judicial inquiry will be opened.
