Border workers in Luxembourg: a complicated day awaits you on the roads this weekend

Major traffic disruptions are expected in Luxembourg on Sunday 3 July. (©Globalview)

Important disturbances are caused in the capital of LuxembourgSunday, July 3, 2022. There will be the JP Morgan City Joggersorganized by the Luxembourg Athletics Federation, but also water pipe disconnection workcarried out by the Water Service.

In order to allow the smooth running of these two operations, the circulation as well as the municipal bus service will be arranged.

Detours and road closures from approximately 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The circuit taken by the runners of the JP Morgan City Jogging is closed to all traffic, from 9:00 a.m.. Residents could return to or leave their homes following the direction of the race.

The route taken by the runners is as follows:

  • John F. Kennedy Avenue
  • poppies street
  • lily of the valley street
  • rue Jules Guillaume
  • Mansfeld Stone Alley
  • Fort Olisy Street
  • Rue Sosthene Weis
  • rue Saint-Ulric
  • Pétrusse Valley
  • Rue de la Semois
  • Roosevelt Boulevard
  • Philip II Street
  • downtown
  • Pescatore Avenue
  • Pescatore park
  • Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge
  • John F. Kennedy Avenue
  • Three Glands
  • europe square
  • avenue John F. Kennedy (cycle path and crossing at rue Erasme).

The line 12 towards Weimershof-Kirchbergthe Philharmonie / MUDAM Quai 1 and Niedergrünewald Quai 1 stops in the rue du Fort Niedergrünewald as well as the Léon Hengen Quai 1 stop in the rue Alcide De Gasperi will be removed and replaced by a temporary stop at the level of the Philharmonie on John F. Kennedy Ave.

The streets will be gradually reopened to traffic from 12:30 p.m. The bans will all be lifted around 2 p.m..

Prince Henri Boulevard Dam

As far as the work of the Service Eaux is concerned, disruptions will take place on Sundays only. between 8:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. approximately.

This intervention will involve the blocking of boulevard Prince Henri on the route between avenue Marie-Thérèse and avenue Monterey but access to the car park remains guaranteed for the duration of the works.
