The soils of Brice Fournier
If he grew up in Saint-Priest, Brice Fournier did not come to the Presqu’île. While he was a student at Charles-de-Foucauld high school in Montchat, “I took the bus on a whim and arrived at Place Tobie-Robatel. I was like a kid arriving at Disneyland, a bit like Rémi, the little rat in Ratatouillewho discovers the cuisine of the stars full of eyes”, launches the actor, thinking back to the Shone and Bacardi store and its showcase of cowboy boots.

“My field of vision widened that day. That was the center of Lyon for me”, he says. Brice Fournier remembers knowing the ” war ” between mods and punks on Place Bellecour. “There were real rivalries, but I was buddies with people in both bands…so I didn’t want to choose sides. »
More beautiful my city
If for his studies, he went to Paris, New York, then London and Barcelona, the restaurateur returned to Lyon in 2013 and could not imagine living in a district other than Terreaux. But he finds a changed city.
“I found that Lyon had metamorphosed. She had become more beautiful, she was more enlightened, more human,” explains Brice Fournier, thinking back to the wanderings he did on his father’s arm for the Festival of Lights where there were “three candle lights at each window. Today, it’s Jean-Michel Jarre! My street is blocked for four days, and we see four million people pass. »

But that doesn’t bother him. The one whose grandparents lived in southern Ardèche longing for villages, entertainment and Jacques Tati-style parties. This is why he loves Place Sathonay, which he crosses every day to get to his restaurant, rue Fernand-Rey.
“On a whim, I took the bus and arrived at Place Tobie-Robatel.
I was like a kid coming to Disneyland! »
“Today, we remove the cars and give back its nobility to nature, and it reminds me of the atmosphere of Albon-d’Ardèche. » Moreover, he regrets the place of Terreaux today.
“I knew the Bartholdi fountain opposite the Town Hall, the Place des Terreaux full of cars… today, I prefer to use rue Sainte-Catherine rather than this large mineral block. This place is a desert, it lacks trees, even in pots. It doesn’t make sense, it’s a four. »
Her routine: around the neighborhood in 1,000 flavors
When he goes to work, he gets bread from Antoinette (rue Hippolyte-Flandrin) for the restaurant, then crosses the street to get cheese from BOF. Around 6 p.m., he likes to have a glass of white Crozes-Hermitage at Sathonay, then later a pisco at Super 5 or a vermouth at Chez les Tartes. Every Friday, he goes to Ultimo to eat a pasta dish with cockles, and on Tuesdays, he goes to the Cercle Rouge.
Her favorite spot:laundry facilities
“It’s a real laundromat where you can take your time and read a book while the laundry is being washed; but above all, it is a solidarity laundry which allows the homeless to come and wash their clothes with the suspended washing system. » A really nice idea from Guillaume Abou.

What he would change: unroll the bitumen…
… to rediscover cobblestones. “For streets limited to 30 km/h, like on Place Sathonay, instead of having toxic tar and potholes, we could have cobblestones. It’s more solid, and it would give the square a village feel. We must intelligently deurbanize the city. »
His good address: Influence Hunters
This shop fascinates him.“I like the weird”, launches the actor who frequents the exhibitions organized by the founder of the place, Nelly Sitbon. Style office and designer of communication spaces, Chasseurs d’Influences always calls out with its showcases in an assumed “rococokitsch” style. Last exhibition that marked her: that of the Italian street-artist, Yuri Hopnn.
