Saturday with six medals for Portugal, four gold
The athlete Leandro Ra Portuguese made the first day of the Gold Medallion in the launch The first place of the day 2 of the Mediterranean Games, with a throw of 23 meters, the first place of the day 2 of the fourth of the Mediterranean Games.
Ramos, 27, beat Egyptian Ihab Abdelrahman, whose best throw was 78.51 meters, and Frenchman Felise Vahai-Sosaia, with 72.83 meters.
It was the sixth medal for the Portuguese mission this Saturday alone, the fourth gold medal, after João Coelho and Cátia Azevedo, both in the 400 meters, and Camila Rebelo, in the 200m backstroke. Diogo Ribeiro was silver in the 100 freestyle and Daniela Campos second in the cycling race.
The athlete Cátia Azevedo made the best personal mark of the time in the 400m, with 51.24 seconds.
Azevedo, 28, beat Slovenian Anita Horvat, second, and Italian Virginia Troiani, third.
Portuguese swimmer Camila Rebelo swam the 200 meters backstroke in 2.10.41 minutes.
Portugal now has 18 medals in the competition, adding the golds of Leandro Ramos, João Coelho, Cátia Azevedo, Diogo Ribeiro, Camila Rebelo and Rafael Reis, to the silver of Ana Catarina Monteiro, Diogo Ribeiro, Daniela Campos, Jieni Shao, Lorène Bazolo, Liliana Here and from the men’s table tennis team, and the bronzes of Evelyse Veiga, Filipa Martins, Tiago Pereira, João Geraldo and the women’s table tennis team.
The Oran 2022 Mediterranean Games started on June 25th and will run until July 6th, with more than three thousand athletes from 26 different countries, including 159 Portuguese in 20 disciplines.
