Portugal gives good reply to the Netherlands and surpasses Finland
The national team sub22 of BCR added the second victory in the European Youth Games. In the morning, the corner team fell to the Netherlands – 69-44 -, undefeated team in the competition, and, in the second meeting of the day, categorically beat the Finland – 66-17.
In the duel with the Dutch team, the pupils of Ricardo Vieira a competitive attitude capable of balancing the contention in the opening five minutes. The rival game proved difficult to counter and the nation, the final game of the first, in the heavyweight house – 24-12. The dynamics of the meeting did not change and the Netherlands continues to build up its advantage until the break – 18-11. A positive response from the national team followed, which lost the second half by just six points – 13-8 and 14-13 (69-44). Miguel Reis (16pts, 3res, 1st) and Angelo Pereira (9pts, 5res, 4ast, 1rb, 1dl) display a larger number, in national colors. By the Dutch, emerged Jelmar van Brunschot (23pts, 15res, 2st), Julia van der Sprong (18pts, 6res, 5ast, 2rb, 1dl) and Walter Vlaanderen (14pts, 15res, 4ast, 2rb, 1dl).
In the second appointment of the day, Portugal rounded, with force, the hostess Finland, by unequivocal 66-17. In a sense, all the markers and unique individuals have defined their game on marker field names – 16-4 / 17-4 / 13-5 / 20-4. Angelo Pereira (9pts, 6res, 7ast, 2rb), Emanuel Soares (12pts, 5res, 2as, 1rb, 1dl) and Alexandre Conde (6pts, 7res, 4as) led, at a statistical level, in the national team. On the other hand, in the host nation of the tournament, Santeri Karvo (6pts, 5res, 1st, 2rb) and Topias Tyni (4pts, 7res, 1ast) proved to be the most dissatisfied.
