LGCT Monaco: Max Kühner imposes on the rock / Jumping / Sport / Home
Obviously, Max Kühner did well to go back and forth between the CHIO of Aix-la-Chapelle and the Longines Global Champions Tour of Monaco. On the rock, the Austrian won the difficult 5* Grand Prix (which has no less than a third of retirements on the initial lap) after a jump-off in which he had only one competitor to face: the Irishman Darragh Kenny, also present in both Aachen and Monaco the same weekend. The two riders were each riding a Selle Français but tonight it was Max Kühner who was the best with EIC Coriolis des Isles (Zandor), while the Irishman had to lose a few tenths of a second with the former partner of Alexandra Francart, Volnay du Boisdeville (Winningmood). Note also that the two riders will meet again against each other tomorrow in the Grand Prix of Aix-la-Chapelle.
Olivier Philippaerts would also have then gone to play in the jump-off, but was trapped on the clock with H&M Miro (Diamant de Semilly) and completed the first round with two points of sensitivity. He still finished on the third step of the podium. The French were not unworthy and made a group shot from the four to the seventh ranks, all with four points. The fastest is Simon Delestre from Lorraine, in the saddle on Dexter Fontenis Z (Diarado), ahead of Edward Lévy and his inseparable Rebeca LS (Rebozo LS). Julien Epaillard and his new partner Gracieux du Pachis (Tinka’s Boy) are in sixth place, one place ahead of Emeric George and Diesel Gp du Bois Madame (Cassius).
