An exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Andrei Tarkovsky was opened in the park “Russia – My History”
The acquisition of the park “Russia – My History” gives the images of Andrei Tarkovsky a new meaning – the exhibition “Not a word about myself …” is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the iconic Soviet film director and screenwriter.
In 13 works by Jan Antonyshev, the symbolism and images of the master are presented in the author’s vision of the artist. All that in the 1970s was called the artistic film language of Tarkovsky. Most of the paintings were created in places where the director lived and worked in different years. All works are made in pastel technique, which has become the hallmark of Antonyshev.
The artist admitted that the work is of particular importance to him – he himself is a longtime admirer of Tarkovsky and, as it turned out, he will need to report to the master himself.
Roman Zalesov, head of the department of exposition and exhibition activities of the park, said that the work of officials not only requires attention to the work of the director, but also to the actors and symbolism.
One of the works – “Tarkovsky’s Bouquet” – is exhibited for the first time. Finishing touches to the artist’s painting right at the opening ceremony. An extended installation was also prepared as part of the exhibition. The master’s journey through the cinema world will last until the end of July.
