2 weeks until the start of the season – quiet Zurich, turbulent Basel and insatiable YB – Sport

14 days until the start of the season: we took a closer look at the transfers of the top 3 in the Super League.
FC Zurich: Is there anything else going on with Gnonto and Omeragic?
The really big sale has not (yet) taken place. With Assan Ceesay, FCZ loses its top scorer to Lecce, the champions found a replacement in 33-year-old Ivan Santini. Meanwhile, defensive midfielder Ole Selnaes can be seen as a replacement for Ousmane Doumbia, who has moved to Lugano.
Significant departures threaten Zurich 2. Willy Gnonto has already been linked to 2 dozen clubs, but President Ancillo Canepa is asking for a double-digit million amount and at this price tag no buyer has yet been found for the winger with a remaining contract period of 1 year. There should also be offers for the second jewel Becir Omeragic.
FC Basel: change again and again
Again there was a daily change in the runner-up. The entire coaching staff was replaced, all goalies changed and another 7 field players who were used regularly left. There were also a lot of youngsters: apart from the goalkeepers, only Jean-Kévin Augustin is older than 22 among the newcomers.
It will be interesting to see how players like Zeki Amdouni, Anton Kade, Sayfallah Ltaief, Arnau Comas and Hugo Vogel will find their way at FC Basel and whether Alex Frei WILL manage to form a functioning team from the high-quality player material. There could still be access in central defence, where the player density is not quite as high as in the other positions.
Young Boys: It’s better to have too many than too few players
Despite the departure of top scorer Jordan Siebatcheu, the Young Boys still have 7 center forwards in their squad. YB sports director Steve von Bergen said to the Bern newspaperthat this does not necessarily have to be too many. In Bern you will not give away points again because of too many injuries.
So far, with Filip Ugrinic, Cedric Itten, Donat Rrudhani and Alexandre Jankewitz, who has returned on loan, more experienced players have been signed than have been sold (Miralem Sulejmani, Edimilson Fernandes). In addition, they are considering moving in full-back Loris Benito because both right-backs are injured. Christian Fassnacht and Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu could stay in Qatar due to more match practice regarding the World Cup. Talent Fabian Rieder made no secret of the fact that he wanted to continue playing at YB before the summer break.
