The sales and profit of Plzeňské Prazdroje Slovakia increased year-on-year last year

“I’m proud that we managed to make progress in 2021, despite the operational restrictions related to the pandemic, which meant for us a year-on-year decline in sales in the draft beer segment by 7%. However, thanks to the success and popularity of our Pilsner Urquell and Radegast grew last year, we managed to improve in 2020,” says Drago Constantinescu, CEO of Plzeňský Prazdroj Slovensko.
The company’s turnover in 2021 reached 126.3 million euros and compared to 2020 it increased by 2% year-on-year. The company paid 48.3 million euros in direct and indirect taxes in 2021, which is 8% more compared to the previous year. Of the total payments for the year 2021, the consumption tax represents the sum of 22 million euros.
The net profit for 2021 was worth 10.9 million euros. It increased by 26% year-on-year, but did not match the level before covid, compared to 2019 it was lower by almost 5%.
Plzeňský Prazdroj Slovensko sold a total of 1.6 hectoliters (hl) of beer in Slovakia last year, which is 7% more than in 2020. However, the sale of draft beer fell by 7% year-on-year to 321,000 hl, while the sale of bottled beer increased by 12% to the level of 1.3 hl.
