“In connection with the ongoing decrease in the severity of the epidemiological process, Rospotrebnadzor suspends the previously imposed restrictions, including the mask regime, a ban on catering at night, and a number of other measures,” the agency’s press service said in a statement.
Thus, the mandatory wearing of masks, the ban on holding mass events and restrictions on public catering, previously approved by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, are cancelled.

Rospotrebnadzor clarifies that over the past four months Russia has seen a steady decline in the incidence of coronavirus, and also notes that, given this dynamics and the characteristics of the Omicron strain, restrictive measures have been minimized since March 1 for strict compliance. The gradual lifting of restrictions, as a rule, in the department, “is not associated with negative changes in the development of epidemic processes in the country.”
At the same time, the department noted that in the summer they consider it unlikely that the incidence of coronavirus COVID-19 in Russia will increase.
“According to scientific studies of organizations of Rospotrebnadzor, an increased incidence caused by the Omicron disease is unlikely in the summer months,” the ministry’s press service said.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, over the past four months in Russia there has been a steady decrease in the intensity of the epidemic process with COVID-19.
